Job Summary
Senior Data and Economics Lead/Senior Researcher for the Department of Labor (ETA) Hub. Leads analytical work, conducts applied economic and quantitative analysis, translates findings into policy-relevant insights, evaluates data quality and fitness for use, integrates partner and federal data, monitors literature, and develops end-to-end analytic pathways. Requires expert-level econometrics/quantitative skills, ability to work with diverse data sources, and strong communication with government staff and stakeholders. Preferred familiarity with technology adoption and its economic impacts. Located in Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in economics, public policy, statistics, data science, social science, or a related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience conducting applied quantitative research, economics research, labor market analysis, policy analysis, or related work using administrative, survey, platform, or other complex datasets
- Proficiency in one or more statistical programming languages such as R, Python, Stata, or similar tools; experience designing and executing empirical analyses under time constraints
- Experience assessing data quality, methodological limitations, and fitness for use across heterogeneous data sources
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into clear written products for policymakers, researchers, or other decision-makers
- Familiarity with federal data sources such as BLS, BEA, Census Bureau, O*NET, or related sources is preferred
- Experience or knowledge related to technology adoption and its economic impacts is preferred
