Job Summary
Define and deliver Barrett Steel's Data & AI roadmap while championing AI adoption through high-value use cases and proof of concepts. Design and deploy AI-powered applications to improve sales productivity and automate workflows, supporting the Epicor migration with data validation and process optimization. Develop dashboards and reports using Tableau, build automated workflows with Alteryx, and integrate data from multiple systems into a modern Snowflake platform. Collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Finance, and IT to establish data governance and best practices. Hybrid working is available with a competitive salary and 25 days holiday.
Required Qualifications
- Strong SQL
- Python basics
- Tableau dashboard development
- Data quality and governance understanding
- Requirements gathering from business users
- Experience with Generative AI tools
- Prompt engineering
- Basic understanding of LLMs and RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
- AI use case identification, assessment and delivering from concept through to implementation and adoption
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or similar enterprise AI tools
- Process mapping
- Stakeholder management & engagement
- Workshop facilitation
- Translating business requirements into technical requirements
- Exposure to Snowflake
- Cloud data warehouse concepts
- ETL/ELT processes
Desired Qualifications
- Alteryx experience
- ERP experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
- API integration knowledge
- AI governance and risk awareness
- Experience leading or mentoring analysts and delivering data transformation projects
