Job Summary
Senior Data Analyst to join Limit Break's data engineering team, owning data ownership and collaborating with data pipeline engineers and stakeholders in Live Operations and Marketing to build tools, analytics, and dashboards. Handle real-time data from multiple sources using a scalable stack including Kafka, Imply Druid, EMR, Trino, and Airflow; contribute across data ingestion, analytics, and dashboards to support critical business decisions. Requires 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data science/engineering and 3+ years in data engineering, with hands-on experience in Druid, Trino/Presto, Hive, Kafka, Superset, Airflow, SQL, and proficiency in Python, Scala, or R; strong testing practices (unit/integration/end-to-end) and familiarity with CI/CD and containerization (bonus: Spark ML/SageMaker). Japanese-language-friendly role based in Tokyo, Japan.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years software engineering experience with a focus on data science and data engineering projects
- 3+ years data engineering experience including data analytics and dashboard creation
- Experience with Druid, Trino/Presto, Hive, Kafka, Superset
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
- SQL and SQL-like languages
- Programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or R
- Experience writing well-tested code including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
