Job Summary
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Cyber Risk and Resilience Directorate and the CA Team, focusing on cybersecurity, operational resilience, and applied research. Responsibilities include direct consulting with mission partners, standardizing cybersecurity assessments, developing security measurement approaches, and mentoring others. Travel 15-35% to SEI/CMU locations, customer sites, conferences, and offsite meetings. Leadership and collaboration across government, academia, and industry, with strong communication skills to present to diverse stakeholders. Opportunities to conduct research into novel methods for managing cybersecurity resilience and to contribute to development of frameworks, models, tools, policies, and training. Requires BS/MS/PhD with corresponding years of experience and security-clearance eligibility; extensive knowledge of standards (NIST CSF, NIST SP 800 series, ISO 27000), and a broad set of cybersecurity and risk-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in a relevant discipline with 10 years of applicable experience, or an MS degree with 8 years, or a PhD with 5 years of applicable experience.
- Technical excellence with a track record of leading projects in a technical discipline.
- Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders; ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Certifications: e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, PMP, CCNA-Security, CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CND, or equivalent.
