Job Summary
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer leading security architecture across AWS, ownership of SOC 2 controls, and secure SDLC design. Role includes threat modeling, risk assessments, incident response planning, and building detection/response capabilities in AWS. Collaborates with product, legal, and leadership to translate requirements into actionable security initiatives; mentors engineers and drives security maturity. Requires 7+ years in cybersecurity or cloud security, strong AWS security experience, CrowdStrike, penetration testing, DAST/SAST in CI/CD, and experience with compliance initiatives (SOC 2); effective communication to engineering and leadership is essential. Beneficial healthcare/compliance exposure (e.g., HIPAA) and distributed-team experience are a plus. The base salary ranges $130,000-$175,000 depending on skills and location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, or cloud security roles
- Strong hands-on experience securing production environments in AWS
- Hands-on experience with CrowdStrike
- Hands-on experience planning, executing, and reviewing penetration tests (internal and third-party)
- Practical experience implementing, tuning, and operationalizing DAST and SAST tools within CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of secure software development practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability management
- Experience supporting compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, including audit preparation, evidence collection, and coordination with internal stakeholders
