Job Summary
Senior Cyber Operations Analyst - AVP responsible for 24/7 monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, and intelligence services within Barclays' Cyber Operations team. Accountabilities include managing security monitoring systems and SOC processes, triaging alerts, detecting and remediating incidents, coordinating with other functions, and leading a team to deliver defensible security outcomes. The role emphasizes adherence to Barclays values and leadership behaviors, with expectations to develop policy, coach staff, and drive operational effectiveness. Location: Whippany, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with SIEM platforms and the ability to monitor, triage, and document security alerts within a structured SOC environment
- Ability to conduct initial analysis of security alerts and events, follow established runbooks, and escalate incidents in line with defined procedures
- Good understanding of common security incidents, including phishing emails, endpoint alerts, and basic network anomalies
- Ability to identify malware indicators and suspicious activity using endpoint, proxy, IDS, and network security alerts
- Understanding of Windows and Linux fundamentals, along with basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP
- Awareness of cloud computing concepts across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
