Job Summary
Senior Cyber Engineer at Deloitte Global (US, Arlington) responsible for supporting security application patching, content, and development of process documentation; acts as escalation point for Cyber Engineering Analysts; supports SOC SIEM deployment and onboarding of new event sources, data feeds, applications, and devices into the SOC’s SIEM; ensures data integrity by reviewing all data feeds; troubleshoots SIEM alerts and escalates to L5 engineers; tests vendor patches for security applications; maintains SOC Engineering in ServiceNow and ensures SLAs are met; supports security applications/tools; collaborates with other teams to complete daily tasks; designs and maintains production-quality dashboards/reports for SIEM users; collaborates with SOC Monitoring to tailor content needs and develops new content based on observed security activity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related field with 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Cyber Engineer-related occupation
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related field with 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Cyber Engineer-related occupation
- Must have Splunk Admin certification
- Scripting using Python and PowerShell
- Leading SIEM technologies (Splunk or ArcSight)
- Experience in planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures
- Experience in a system administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications (Windows, Linux, Splunk)
- Communicating network security issues to peers and lower management
- Administrating or deploying multiple technologies from the listed set
