Senior Cyber Automation and Controls Engineer

Job Summary
Implement and tune technical protections including logging, access controls, and vulnerability workflows to enhance enterprise monitoring and defense. Develop automated workflows that improve continuous monitoring, event tracking, and operational response efficiency while supporting security engineering changes derived from threat hunts and gap analyses. Work with architects, analysts, and ISSOs to validate controls, integrate new capabilities sustainably, and close identified security gaps through defensive exercises and testing. Requires 10+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree, and U.S. citizenship for security clearance eligibility. Onsite role in Albuquerque, NM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; a postgraduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for 6 years of experience
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking
- Applicants must currently be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance, in compliance with federal contract requirements
- Must have's: Experience in security engineering, control implementation and automation in cybersecurity environments
- Must have's: Familiarity with enterprise logging, monitoring, access control and technical security operations
- Must have's: Ability to apply strong problem-solving skills to implement, integrate and sustain technical security improvements
- Must have's: Experience working across engineering and operations teams to deliver measurable cybersecurity outcomes
- Must have's: Strong documentation and technical communication skills
