Job Summary
Senior Customs Entry Writer handles preparation and submission of customs entries for import shipments to U.S. Customs, ensuring accurate classification using CROSS and HTS, and creating invoices for duties. Maintains customer profiles, coordinates commodity classifications, and responds to brokerage inquiries. Requires 3-5 years of entry writing experience, familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations, and experience with data entry and Cargowise. Hybrid work arrangement based in the New Hyde Park, NY office, 9:00 am–6:00 pm EST with rotational overtime on Sundays.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of entry writing experience
- Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry
- Associate's degree preferred
- Cargowise experience is a plus
- Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations
- Experience preparing customs entries for import shipments
- Experience ensuring proper entry classification using CROSS and HTS
- Ability to create invoices for duty and entry charges
- Ability to develop and maintain customer profiles
- Ability to coordinate classification of commodities per HTS
- Excellent communication with importers and internal billing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
