Job Summary

Senior Customer Account Executive responsible for expanding and renewing existing customer accounts, driving upsells and renewals, educating customers on the value of Tailscale across adoption cycles, and partnering with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Product teams. Build quarterly pipelines by engaging clients, own upsell and renewal numbers across accounts, educate customers on feature releases, provide weekly revenue forecasting, and create mutual action/success plans to expand usage. Participation in video-recorded customer meetings is a core part of the role for training and quality improvement. Required to have 2+ years of closing experience in AE/AM, experience selling developer/technical products (PLG motion), ability to present to senior managers/executives, manage multiple opportunities, and collaborate with Sales Engineering, support, and customer success teams. The role is based in Denver with hybrid preference (3 days/week in-office); remote-first company with some in-office collaboration depending on team needs. Compensation includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits, with a US pay range of $150,000—$150,000 (OTE). Preference for proactive, cross-functional teamwork and a strong growth mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of closing experience in an AE or an AM role
  • Experience selling developer and/or technical products, especially in a product-led growth (PLG) motion
  • Experience presenting to senior managers and executives
  • Ability to manage many opportunities simultaneously at various stages, with a track record of meeting and exceeding quota
  • Experience using Gong, or similar, to collaborate internally and manage pipeline
  • Experience partnering with Sales Engineering, support, and customer success teams to drive positive outcomes for clients
  • Proactive from lead to close - the hiring manager for this role is Spencer Cranson
  • Role is based in Denver and is hybrid preferred (3 days/week in-office)
  • Remote first company with some roles requiring in-office collaboration; distributed teams across Canada, United States, United Kingdom
