Job Summary
Senior Crypto AML Investigator responsible for leading complex investigations across cryptocurrency transactions, brokerage accounts, and cash movements; analyze blockchain activity using Chainalysis/TRM/Elliptic; draft SARs meeting regulatory standards; manage full lifecycle of investigations; collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Product, Risk, and Engineering; mentor junior investigators; stay current on crypto-financial crime trends and regulatory guidance; role requires in-person attendance at Robinhood offices in New York, Denver, or Westlake with at least 3 days/week on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of AML investigations experience within a broker-dealer, cryptocurrency firm, fintech company, or financial institution
- Direct hands-on experience investigating cryptocurrency-related activity and analyzing blockchain transactions using Chainalysis/TRM/Elliptic or similar platforms
- Experience across both fiat and crypto product environments
- Strong understanding of BSA/AML regulatory requirements relating to virtual currencies and digital asset platforms
- Ability to independently manage complex/high-risk investigations and make risk-based decisions
- Strong analytical, writing, and documentation skills
- Experience using case management/investigative platforms such as Actimize or similar
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- ACAMS/CFCS/CFE/CRCM (preferred)
- Chainalysis Reactor/KYT certification or TRM equivalent (preferred)
- FINRA Series 7 and/or Series 24 licenses (preferred)
- Excellent communication and mentoring abilities
- Willingness to work in-person at multiple office locations
