Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive safety assessments, mental status evaluations, and risk assessments for individuals in mental health or substance use crises, including complex, high-acuity encounters. Determine appropriate care levels, develop safety plans, and apply evidence-based de-escalation techniques while providing clinical consultation to team members. Lead the clinical component of mobile crisis responses, directing peer support specialists and delegating engagement and stabilization tasks. Connect individuals to behavioral health, medical, social service, and housing resources, facilitating warm handoffs to ensure continuity of care. Maintain assigned direct service expectations, complete all clinical documentation within established timelines, and adhere to CARF, CBBHC, and regulatory compliance standards. Support onboarding and workforce development by mentoring new staff and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Work Sunday through Tuesday, 7am to 7:40pm, at 1400 W Greenleaf Ave. in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related clinical field
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) status
- Licensed or actively pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of two years of experience in crisis intervention, community mental health, or emergency behavioral health services
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-acuity, or specialized crisis presentations
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented service approaches
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends consistent with program operational needs
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work effectively in community settings and respond to mobile crisis calls across designated service areas
