Job Summary
Senior Crew Chief (Level II) responsible for staking well locations, surveying and establishing section corners, and staking access roads, including slope staking for access roads and well location pads. Provides daily oversight of assigned Survey Assistants and ensures all work is executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. Performs stake-out of pipelines and right-of-ways, topographic surveys and cross-sectioning, field data management, note reduction, and reads/interprets plans and specifications. Maintains equipment, completes time and expense reporting, and represents the company when meeting with clients and public landowners. Requires strong math, geometry, trigonometry knowledge, advanced monumentation/staking principles, proficient communication, and adherence to safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required
- Background in math, geometry, and trigonometry required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Level I Senior Crew Chief
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Oil & Gas surveying industry
- Expert understanding of sources of measurement errors
- Advanced knowledge of monumentation, staking, and marking principles
- Skills & Abilities: Proficient math and computer skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Professional, proactive, and positive attitude
- Adaptable and flexible in changing environments
- Detail-oriented with sound judgment
- Ability to work effectively as a team contributor
- Licensing Requirements: Valid driver’s license required
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) must meet company requirements throughout employment
- Physical & Additional Requirements: Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to walk for extended periods and operate ATVs across various terrains
- Must participate in the company drug and alcohol compliance program
- Flexible and adaptable to change
