Job Summary
Lead end-to-end credit underwriting for commercial and institutional lending requests, producing detailed credit memos that assess business viability and identify key risk factors. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including trend and ratio analysis, on companies with complex cross-border structures while evaluating repayment capacity through cash flow statements and personal financial records. Perform industry research, geographical due diligence, and competitive analysis to inform credit assessments, ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements. Mentor junior credit officers and provide coverage leadership for the credit underwriting function.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of credit authority experience within commercial, corporate, or institutional lending, including exposure to regulatory and compliance policy environments
- Advanced ability to assess individual and company financial statements, cash flow positions, and industry-level dynamics, including complex organizational structures with cross-border entities
- Solid grounding in accounting principles and their practical application in the credit underwriting process
- Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive credit write-ups and memos that clearly communicate risk, structure, and decision rationale to stakeholders across functions and seniority levels
- Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive credit assessments accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools, including the ability to build and interpret financial models, graphs, and charts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing or contributing to a commercial or institutional credit portfolio, including monitoring credit performance and portfolio-level risk trends
- Familiarity with a broad range of banking products and services across the consumer, commercial, and institutional spectrum
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives within a credit or risk function
