Senior Credit Manager (Specialty Finance)

Job Summary
Lead the Credit Risk Function as Chair of the Credit Approvals Committee, exercising delegated lending authority for Commercial Investment Real Estate, Specialty Finance, and Asset Based Lending. Manage a high-performing team, coordinate resource deployment across the Credit Risk Function, and provide constructive challenge to 1st Line growth plans and risk appetite policies. Own credit risk sanctioning decisions for complex transactions up to £75m, prepare papers for Executive and Non-Executive Risk Committees, and ensure compliance with Credit Risk policies and appetite statements. Monitor asset class portfolio performance, including Watchlists and Impairments, while driving process efficiencies through automation and evolving credit risk systems.
Required Qualifications
- In depth understanding of the financial services sector with specific focus on Credit Risk
- Strong capability in strategic thinking and developing solutions
- Strong understanding of compliance and banking regulations and Conduct Risk and how to deliver fair customer outcomes
- Strong understanding of Credit Risk appetite and Credit Risk management frameworks
- Ability to operate effectively on senior management Committees
- Demonstrates sound business/professional judgement through strength of character, independence of thought risk awareness and good values and behaviours
- Works well under pressure with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and complex projects simultaneously
- High levels of drive, energy and personal commitment to success
