Senior Credentialer

Job Summary
Own and manage the full lifecycle of clinical credentialing for Porter's clinical workforce, verifying qualifications including licenses, certifications, education, training, work history, and malpractice coverage. Conduct primary source verification to maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready provider credentialing files for Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other clinical professionals. Monitor time-sensitive credentials to ensure compliance, proactively track expirables, and initiate renewal processes well in advance. Identify and resolve credentialing discrepancies, coordinate enrollment activities with health plans and payers, and guide providers through onboarding requirements. Partner with Clinical Operations, HR, Compliance, and leadership to ensure providers are cleared before patient care, while developing workflows and supporting internal audits.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of clinical credentialing experience
- Strong understanding of the provider credentialing and recredentialing lifecycle
- Experience credentialing a variety of healthcare professionals, including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other clinical providers
- Working knowledge of healthcare licensing, certifications, malpractice insurance, professional references, education verification, and other provider qualification requirements
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, independently research solutions, and proactively resolve credentialing issues
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with Clinical Operations, HR, Compliance, and leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with payer or health plan credentialing and enrollment processes
- Familiarity with credentialing databases, provider management systems, CAQH, and other healthcare credentialing platforms
- Experience developing or improving credentialing processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures
