Job Summary
Develop and implement an overarching content and social media strategy aligned to the University's brand and institutional priorities for student recruitment, research, and reputation. Lead a global multidisciplinary creative content team, managing day-to-day operations, planning, and delivery of campaigns across organic and paid channels. Oversee the production of best-in-class creative assets including video, photography, and graphics while ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and accessibility standards. Provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders on channel strategy and digital best practice, utilizing analytical tools to measure performance and drive continuous improvement. Manage content budgets and external suppliers, leading cross-functional projects with academic schools and marketing teams to support integrated institutional campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate substantial relevant professional experience
- At least 8 years professional experience in content, social media, digital marketing or brand communications roles
- Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering integrated content and social media strategies
- Proven experience managing creative and/or multidisciplinary teams
- Strong leadership and people management skills with experience developing high-performing teams
- Significant experience commissioning and overseeing creative content production across multiple formats and channels
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, content trends, digital storytelling and audience engagement strategies
- Excellent copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills
- Strong understanding of brand management and experience working within established brand guidelines
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience influencing and collaborating at senior levels
- Strong analytical skills with experience using insight and performance data to inform strategy and decision making
- Excellent organisational, project management and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and external suppliers
- Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and campaigns
- Experience of accessibility and inclusive content best practice

- Experience within the Higher Education sector and understanding of the macro issues affecting the sector
