Job Summary
Senior Counsel for Wealth Litigation in TD Legal; lead strategic and tactical litigation counsel on wealth-related regulatory matters, manage external counsel across Canadian courts, provide pre-litigation risk analysis, offer guidance on contractual interpretation and drafting, support internal investigations, and train business and legal partners on best practices and emerging risks. Strong background in securities litigation, class actions, cross-functional collaboration, and clear communication with senior stakeholders; bilingualism is an asset but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school and qualified to practice law in Ontario
- 8+ years of post-call litigation experience
- Solid background in securities litigation, particularly in the regulatory space
- Experience litigating large, complex matters, including class actions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills
- Ability to communicate complicated legal issues clearly to business clients and other professionals
