Job Summary
Senior Counsel, US Employment Law provides employment-law advice and counsel to functional and business partners across the enterprise in the United States, manages employment-law litigation and coordinates strategies with external counsel, stays aware of federal, state, and local employment standards, and leads investigations into employee misconduct. The role requires strong legal judgment, enterprise mindset, ability to build relationships with internal partners, regulators, and external counsel, and the capacity to work in a hybrid office setting. The position emphasizes collaboration with RBC Law Group and CNB Legal Team and involves advising on legislative developments, risk management, and delivery of legal services aligned with the Law Group’s goals.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from accredited law school
- Active license with the California State Bar
- 8+ years of experience in-house or at a law firm
- Demonstrated knowledge in employment law
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work from an RBC office location in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Jersey City or New York at least 4 days per week (up to 1 day remote)
