Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology agreements including SaaS, software licensing, and data processing contracts. Advise internal clients on software development, product commercialization, and emerging AI initiatives while managing legal and regulatory risk. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop AI governance policies and risk management practices. Monitor emerging AI laws and provide guidance on privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property matters. Collaborate with outside counsel to support operational and strategic legal matters. This role reports to Vizient's VP, Managing Counsel, and focuses on enabling innovation for healthcare technology solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 6 or more years of relevant legal experience supporting technology transactions, intellectual property, commercial contracting, or related legal matters
- Demonstrated experience negotiating enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, and other technology agreements
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property, privacy, cybersecurity, HIPAA, and AI-related legal issues
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and client management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while aligning legal advice with strategic business objectives
- Office-based role with an expectation of three days per week on-site in Irving, TX, Chicago, IL or Centennial, CO
Desired Qualifications
- In-house technology, healthcare technology, software, cloud computing, or AI industry experience
- Experience with GDPR, HIPAA, state privacy laws, emerging AI regulatory frameworks, and CIPP and/or AIGP certification
