Job Summary
Lead the legal structuring and end-to-end management of strategic bank-fintech lending partnerships, drafting and negotiating complex customer and third-party agreements, guiding product strategy and regulatory compliance, and architecting scalable legal workflows. You will own regulatory frameworks (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, usury, licensing, BSA/AML) and collaborate with engineering, risk, and finance to launch Column-backed lending products and partnerships. Requires 7–15+ years of legal experience, U.S. licensure, and expertise in banking infrastructure and embedded finance, with the ability to draft, negotiate, and scale complex agreements and product structures. The role offers direct impact on product development and regulatory strategy, with opportunities to leverage AI and automation in legal processes, and reports to the Bank’s General Counsel.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. or equivalent
- Currently licensed in a U.S. state
- 7–15+ years as a practicing lawyer
- Deep expertise counseling product teams on banking infrastructure and embedded finance solutions
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking partnerships regulatory framework (TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA, UDAAP, state usury laws, BSA/AML)
- Experience structuring bank-fintech lending partnerships
- Familiarity with loan sale, participation, servicing agreements
- Ability to manage high-volume cross-functional workload
- Desire to work at the center of fintech/bank innovation
