Job Summary
Senior Counsel (Regulatory) provides clear, business-focused advice on applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank of England Codes of Practice, PSR regulations), monitors regulatory developments, assesses impact, drafts consultation responses, prepares written updates/training/presentations, supports regulatory engagement with Compliance, represents the Legal team in governance forums, and manages external counsel. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, proactive handling of regulatory issues, ability to work cross-functionally with Compliance, product, and other teams, and a self-starter, commercially aware mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with mid-level experience
- In-house experience within a retail bank, regulated payments business, or central bank/relevant regulator is ideal
