Job Summary
Conduct high-volume, tactical reviews of advertising, promotional claims, and marketing assets across web, email, social, and packaging channels for compliance with FDA, FTC, and state consumer protection requirements. Evaluate proposed claims against FDA labeling standards, coordinate substantiation efforts with Regulatory Affairs, and build practical legal tools embedding compliance into the marketing development process. Serve as a key liaison to Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Quality, Medical, Product, and Marketing teams to support legal review for clinical trials and research initiatives. Partner with cross-functional legal teams to monitor regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidance for real-time decision-making. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of product, science, and healthcare regulation, helping the business move quickly and responsibly within a leading telehealth platform.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction and eligible to practice in house in your state of residence
- 5+ years of experience practicing at a law firm and/or in-house
- Substantive experience reviewing advertising and promotional claims, ideally for FDA-regulated products (drugs, devices, cosmetics, or dietary supplements)
- Working knowledge of FDA and FTC advertising and promotion requirements and claim substantiation standards
- Ability to make sound, practical judgments quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with cross-functional partners
- Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and offer creative, workable solutions
- Detail-oriented, self-starter mindset and comfort navigating ambiguity and novel legal issues
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting clinical trials, research, or medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review
- In-house experience at a healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer health, or telehealth company
- Familiarity with clinical data and real-world evidence as a basis for claim substantiation
- Background in consumer goods, health tech, or digital product ecosystems
- Experience advising on AI-powered products
