Job Summary
Senior Counsel - Product at Kraken Payward, fully remote with UK/EU focus, partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering to advance licensing and product initiatives in a crypto context. Lead licensing/registration efforts across priority jurisdictions (MiFID, EMIR, MiCA, AMLD5, e-money), draft and negotiate client terms, coordinate regulator interactions, and deliver clear, actionable risk-based guidance to product stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer (Solicitor/Barrister) admitted in England & Wales, Ireland, or an EU Member State
- 10+ years PQE in financial services law
- Experience with licensing/registration efforts
- Familiarity with MiFID, MiCA, AMLD5, UK financial promotions, and/or e-money regulations
- Ability to draft and negotiate client terms and regulatory submissions
- Strong analytical, drafting, and organizational skills
- Comfort translating complex regulatory issues for product teams
- Crypto and crypto-regulatory familiarity
- In-house or direct product counseling experience
