Senior Counsel - Procurement and Construction [Hybrid]

Job Summary

Lead negotiations, drafting, and critical review of engineering procurement and construction agreements, balance of plant agreements, and supply contracts for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. Support internal clients with interpreting renewable energy legislation, executing due diligence for project financing, and managing outside legal counsel. Prepare contract templates, review bidder responses during RFP processes, and provide legal training to the construction and procurement teams. Manage the Legal Department's budget while recommending process improvements to mitigate risks. Requires a current US or Canadian bar license, ten years of law firm or in-house experience, and 85% office presence with domestic and international travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically, ten (10) years or more of law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Current bar license from one or more US or Canadian jurisdictions
  • JD or LLB from an accredited law school the US or Canada
  • Experience managing external counsel

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with a renewable energy company and/or renewable energy clients is preferred
