Job Summary
Senior Privacy and Regulatory Counsel to lead a global privacy program, advise on AI and data protection, and oversee regulatory strategy across evolving jurisdictions. Responsibilities include policy management, regulator engagement, product counseling, commercial negotiations, and data-protection compliance initiatives (DPIAs, RoPAs, audits). Requires JD, U.S. state-bar admission, and 8+ years in-house privacy/regulatory experience at a tech company; candidate should demonstrate expertise in privacy laws (GDPR, EU AI Act, EU Data Act) and technical concepts (APIs, encryption, cloud architectures). Hybrid role available in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY with strong collaboration, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- JD from a respected institution and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience with global privacy/regulatory matters in a technology company (cloud/SaaS)
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. and global privacy and data protection laws and emerging technology regulations (AI-related)
- Experience building and managing a privacy program and providing actionable legal guidance to product, engineering, and business teams
- Technical literacy with APIs, encryption, LLMs, and cloud architecture
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Hybrid work capability with preferred offices in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY
