Job Summary

Provide strategic legal advice on commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, regulatory, and compliance matters. Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for wind turbine supply, installation, service, logistics, and procurement. Support transaction due diligence, risk mitigation, and closings while managing litigation, arbitration, and external counsel. Develop internal policies and monitor regulatory developments to align with business objectives. Advise cross-functional teams on risk management and special projects as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer. Based in Chicago, this role supports sales, installation, and operations across North America. Final title and level will be determined by candidate experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school in the United States
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Illinois
  • At least five (5) years of relevant legal experience
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Exercise sound judgment
  • Deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and business judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively across legal and non-legal teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related business tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience drafting and negotiating wind turbine supply, installation, and service agreements
  • Familiarity with dispute resolution, management of external counsel, and internal investigations or compliance-related matters
  • Knowledge of cross-border transactions, international trade, and ethics and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while keeping stakeholders informed
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accountability
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new areas of law as business needs evolve
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Meaningful transactional experience in an in-house legal department, law firm, or both
