Job Summary
Senior Counsel for Global Commercial Legal focusing on U.S. Market Access and Pricing. Provides legal strategy and support for government price reporting, Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act matters, and strategic counsel to senior management on pricing and access. Responsibilities include advising on price reporting, reviewing and negotiating complex government agreements, developing policies and training, directing outside counsel, and ensuring alignment with AbbVie's business objectives. Must hold a law degree, be in good standing (or able to gain licensure), and possess extensive experience in pharmaceutical regulatory and government contracting, with strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and in good standing with the state bar (or ability to gain licensure in the state where the office will be located)
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with previous pharmaceutical experience required
- Proficiency in government price reporting requirements (AMP, Best Price, ASP, 340B) and federal health care program contracting (e.g., Medicaid, VA)
- Ability to work independently and provide strategic legal counsel
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in high-pressure, matrixed environments
- Experience negotiating complex government agreements and managing outside counsel
