Senior Counsel - Employment and Labor Law

Job Summary

Lead StubHub's primary legal advisor on all employment, labor, and workforce matters, partnering directly with the CHRO, General Counsel, and senior business leaders. Own end-to-end management of employment litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings from intake through resolution, while leading workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct. Design, implement, and continuously update global employment policies, handbooks, and codes of conduct reflecting current law and StubHub's culture, ensuring compliance with wage-and-hour, leave, accommodation, and pay transparency requirements across 195 countries. Advise the executive team and Board on workforce risk, litigation trends, and regulatory developments, managing outside counsel relationships and driving down spend through smart matter allocation.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D.
  • active bar membership in good standing (California or New York bar)
  • 10+ years of employment and labor law experience
  • significant time at a law firm and in-house
  • Demonstrated experience leading an employment law function or team
  • managing outside counsel relationships and litigation portfolios
  • Deep substantive expertise across wage-and-hour law
  • discrimination and harassment law
  • leave and accommodation law
  • labor relations
  • workforce classification
  • working knowledge of international employment frameworks (EU, UK, and other markets where StubHub operates)
  • Experience advising a public company or preparing a company for public-company employment law standards
  • human capital disclosure requirements
  • Track record of building or significantly modernizing employment policies, training programs, and compliance infrastructure from the ground up
  • Experience partnering with Total Rewards or Compensation teams on pay equity and pay transparency compliance
  • Sound, practical judgment
