Senior Counsel - EMEA Commercial Contract and Product

Job Summary
Senior-level in-house counsel role leading the EMEA legal and commercial contracting strategy for Capital One’s Global Payments Network. You will provide strategic and actionable legal and commercial advice, own the EMEA contracting roadmap, negotiate and draft commercial agreements, partner with Risk and Compliance, oversee outside counsel as needed, stay abreast of regulatory developments, and implement efficient legal workflows. This role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, ability to influence across stakeholders, and comfort balancing risk and business objectives within a financial services context. The position is based in London with a hybrid pattern of three days in-office (Tue–Thu) and two days remote.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor with solid post-qualification experience
- Prior experience negotiating, drafting, and guiding implementation of commercial agreements
- Experience working within a financial services environment
- Strong business judgment and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate legal and commercial terms to stakeholders
- Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders with credibility at all levels
