Job Summary
Senior Counsel, Commercial Contracts responsible for providing legal leadership and advice on a broad range of commercial contracting matters, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate agreements (including co-manufacturing, supply, logistics, broker, distributor agreements, NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, licensing/technology agreements), and developing contract management processes. Will oversee end-to-end contract management, establish standards and templates, manage contracting risk and KPIs, drive legal technology adoption for contract management, develop negotiation strategies and training materials for business teams, and collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization on privacy, marketing/advertising, IP, import/export, and related matters. The role requires JD, state admission, 8+ years of experience, and strong communication and risk-management skills; base location is onsite with hybrid work in Walnut Creek, CA, with a starting salary range of $180k-$210k per year.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice law in at least one state
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience
- Minimum of 5 years of substantive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with a corporate legal department or well-regarded law firm
- Experience with CPG-related agreements such as co-manufacturing, supply, logistics and broker agreements
