Job Summary
Senior Counsel at NYC OTI/OIP (Brooklyn, NY) provides high-stakes legal guidance on privacy, data security, and interagency matters. Responsibilities include advising on sensitive legal issues, negotiating and drafting documents such as MOUs, NDAs, sponsorship agreements, and terms of service, drafting policies and training materials to ensure agency privacy compliance, representing the Chief Privacy Officer in senior-level and interagency settings, conducting privacy trainings, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments in privacy and cybersecurity, and handling special projects as assigned. The role requires admission to the NYS Bar, significant legal leadership experience, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 operational context.
Required Qualifications
- Admission to the New York State Bar; four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar; eighteen months of which must have been in supervision of other attorneys; administrative, managerial or executive capacity; highly complex legal work
