Job Summary
Senior Counsel will work in-house at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) in a hybrid role based in Brooklyn, NY. The position involves litigation management, corporate compliance, and transactional work, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating leases, subleases, and real estate agreements; drafting contracts such as construction and consulting contracts; managing procurement-related documents (RFPs, etc.); ensuring regulatory and corporate policy compliance; advising executives and management; and supporting board meetings. The role requires strong communication, analytical, diplomatic, and project-management skills, with experience coordinating outside counsel and insurers, and a law degree with active NYS Bar status.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited law school
- Active member of NYS Bar
- 5+ years private or public sector experience in law
- Experience in either transactional work or litigation management, insurance, and/or compliance work strongly preferred
