Job Summary
Senior Counsel at Battery Park City Authority will provide ethics advice, ensure compliance with ethics laws and FOIL, assist in corporate governance matters, negotiate and draft a wide range of agreements (ground leases, construction, design, licenses, consulting), supervise outside counsel on litigation, and advise on real estate, procurement, and other transactional issues. The role requires excellent communication, ability to manage multiple projects, analyze statutes and policies, prioritize workload, and collaborate with executives and stakeholders. In-office presence required at least 3 days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from ABA accredited law school
- Member in good standing with the New York State Bar
- A minimum of six (6) or more years of law firm, government or applicable in-house experience preferred
- Substantive experience in one or more of the following practice areas preferred: New York State or City government, real estate transactional matters, contracting and procurement, construction or litigation
