Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
Estimate, budget, and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle while producing final cost plans and managing post-contract valuations. Reconcile contractor data, communicate with general contractors and owners to gather status updates, and prepare executive summaries for cost discussions. Coordinate cost information from suppliers, subs, and A/Es to drive engineering priorities and resolve scheduling issues with minimal supervision. Manage cost checks, contingency logs, and funding data presentations, delivering updated cost plans at design milestones and supporting value engineering exercises. Lead negotiations on contractor pricing, compile built cost records for benchmarking, and ensure final accounts are agreed upon timely. Produce monthly cost reports and adhere to SOX controls and internal business management systems.
Required Qualifications
- On site presence
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry
- RICS accredited or working towards it
- Experience of leading cost management on medium or large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity
- Construction consultancy experience
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated

- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

- SOX control responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- RICS accredited or working towards it is preferred
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred
