Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Data Center Construction

Job Summary

Develop and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets, and estimates throughout design and construction phases across a large, multi-building campus. Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and executive summaries to support program-wide decision making while coordinating cost data from designers, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Lead procurement support activities including pricing reviews, scope validation, and commercial negotiations, and oversee full change-management workflows to ensure accurate tracking. Manage final accounts, drive timely agreements across multiple contractors, and maintain rigorous cost-control systems monitoring commitments and variances. Support contingency planning, cost-risk analysis, and value-engineering efforts for mission-critical MEP infrastructure. Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring objectives are met across office and site stakeholders while mentoring junior team members. This role supports a major, multi-phase hyperscale data center construction program in the DFW area with periodic travel to a central Texas campus site.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–7+ years of cost management or project controls experience on medium‐ to large‐scale construction programs
  • Proven ability to manage full change‐management processes on major projects
  • Strong project controls understanding, including cost‐schedule integration and variance analysis
  • Skilled in procurement support and commercial contract management
  • Proficiency with standard cost management tools and Microsoft Office
  • On-site presence and requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with mission‐critical, data center, industrial, or large campus‐scale developments
  • Consultancy experience
  • Strong understanding of civil, structural, and MEP construction, with exposure to complex infrastructure systems
  • Advanced competency in budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and cost‐control systems; EVM experience
  • RICS accreditation (or progress toward certification)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‐management skills
  • High analytical capability and attention to detail
