Job Summary
Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor for data center construction. Responsibilities include advising the client on strategies, managing vendor prequalification, assessing proposals and bids with bid leveling, chairing bid interviews, developing project estimates for construction and related costs, reviewing estimations, presenting estimates and value engineering recommendations to the client, engaging with vendors to review costs, establishing cost reporting schedules, managing project budgets and spend forecasts, maintaining a commercial risk register, overseeing cost control and payment processes (change orders, contractor entitlements, invoicing), and conducting post-contract audits and lessons-learned reviews. Tools and methods include Bid Analysis Sheets, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software. On-site presence may be required; strong communication is essential. The role aligns with Turner & Townsend’s cost management services for construction projects and may involve SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction
- RICS accreditation or working towards it is valuable
- On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs
