Job Summary
Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor sought for data center construction with heavy civil focus. The role is remote within the United States, with occasional travel to project sites; candidate must be physically based in the U.S. and legally authorized to work. Responsibilities include estimating and negotiating change orders across sitework, earthworks, utilities, and civil packages; producing cost plans and aligning them with early works and heavy civil scopes; reviewing estimates with design teams and general contractors; reconciling changes; maintaining cost data from self-perform, subcontractors, and suppliers; preparing executive summaries of contractor submissions; guiding cost decisions and design options through value engineering; conducting cost control and post-contract activities; maintaining cost benchmarks and regular monthly cost reports; and mentoring team members. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 6–7 years of cost management experience in construction, strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, and willingness to travel. Preferred is RICS accreditation or progress toward it; SOX considerations may apply; salary in the $135K–$155K range with potential bonuses and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 6–7 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry, including exposure to large-scale infrastructure or heavy civil projects
- Experience supporting complex, fast-paced construction programs with significant site development components
- RICS accredited or actively working toward accreditation (preferred)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Candidates must be physically based in the United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S.; remote work is permitted only within the United States
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
