Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction (Anticipated Opening)

Job Summary
Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the data center construction lifecycle, including mission-critical systems and infrastructure packages. Produce final cost plans across all project phases and review design team submissions for building, MEP, power, and cooling systems. Reconcile changes to ensure cost and quantity data align with program objectives while communicating with contractors and consultants to gather status information. Prepare written reviews of contractor submissions, manage cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost management processes. Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact, coordinate value engineering workshops, and lead negotiations to achieve competitive contract pricing. Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and funding presentations for client leadership, ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon. Compile historical cost data and benchmarking information for data center facilities. Mentor talent and model leadership behaviors in line with company conditions of appointment, adhering to SOX controls where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management role within the construction industry
- Excellent communication skills

- Comfortable operating in a client-facing environment with multiple stakeholders
- Experience leading cost management activities on medium to large-scale construction projects of moderate to high complexity
- Experience supporting large-scale data center developments, including MEP-heavy scopes, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, and mission-critical facilities
- Construction consultancy experience
- Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement strategies, cost planning, value management, value engineering, and commercial risk management
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project program environments
- On-site presence
Desired Qualifications
- RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership
- Experience leading cost management activities on medium to large-scale construction projects of moderate to high complexity, preferably within mission-critical, data center, advanced technology, industrial, or infrastructure sectors
- Experience supporting large-scale data center developments, including MEP-heavy scopes, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, and mission-critical facilities, is strongly preferred
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project program environments is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills
