Job Summary
Advise clients on strategies, manage vendor prequalification, and chair bid interviews to ensure a robust supply chain. Develop full project estimates, validate junior submissions, and present value engineering recommendations and risk assessments using benchmark data. Establish reporting schedules, review budget forecasts, and maintain a commercial risk register while hosting periodic meetings with project teams. Manage the cost control process by assessing payment applications, recommending contractor entitlements, and resolving change orders and contractual disputes. Monitor invoicing, conduct post-contract audits, and develop lesson-learned manuals for future training. Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets, cost estimating software, and take-off tools to execute these duties, adhering to SOX controls where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
- Strong communication skills
- Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects, ideally within complex or technically advanced facilities
Desired Qualifications
- RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred
