Job Summary
Represent the firm to clients and business associates as the lead OCMI representative, explaining cost deliverables, processes, and justifications during formal meetings, presentations, or negotiations. Provide detailed quantity take-offs and preliminary pricing for construction projects by reviewing and interpreting construction drawings to understand overall scope. Lead comprehensive estimating efforts, oversee quality control, and facilitate document control while actively researching vendors to maintain cost information accuracy. Perform life cycle cost analysis, value engineering, and risk analysis tasks, and mentor a small team of cost estimators. Communicate cost strategies clearly to clients and A/E consultants, and participate in business development initiatives including outreach to prospective new clients.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years as a cost manager / estimating professional
- Prior HCAI healthcare project estimating experience
- Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents at all levels of design (drawings, specifications)
- Ability to travel intermittently for projects and meetings with clients and project site visits
- A bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or architecture, or 5 years minimum of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree
