Job Summary
Develop control systems to lead and administer complete construction cost control systems, tracking budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts for all data center projects. Create control systems that drive consistent financial assessment, including early phase budgeting, cost report functionality, and detailed forecasting methods. Analyze large data sets using Excel to produce executive-level reports, manage cost coding systems, and integrate with financial software. Partner with design, engineering, and project management teams to maintain control through the project life cycle while evaluating supplier invoices and ensuring proper payment methods. Proactively manage budgets from pre-design through closeout, identify financial risks, and implement disciplined change management across projects.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a clear understanding of the full construction life cycle
- Proven capability to manage cost control systems on complex projects from pre-design through closeout
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills beyond estimating practice
- Capability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
- Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to develop strong project control systems
- Ability to be highly confidential
- Proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong and proven capability using excel to analyze large data sets
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Manages stress and/or fast pace effectively
- Excellent analytical, creative thinking, written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent education and/or relevant experience
- 10 years' experience with construction cost management responsibilities that may include preconstruction planning, cost management strategies, cost coding structures, commits/spends/forecast processes, reviewing contractor's cost proposals for major engineering and construction projects
- Experience with Construction Cost Accounting Software
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- Ability to travel 25%- 50% of time
