Job Summary
Senior Cost Controller for a Sydney-based project responsible for cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting across the project lifecycle. Manages actual costs, forecast processes, and monthly reporting; supports Project Managers in cost forecasts; finalises monthly actuals and forecasts, project valuation, and cash flow; provides accruals and journal corrections; contributes to monthly project valuation and dashboards; improves cost management processes linking cost, scope, progress and performance reporting; prepares month-end commercial reports and escalates variances, risks and opportunities. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, finance, construction management, or project management and 5+ years’ experience in cost control or quantity surveying; experience with BOQ, SAP (or other ERP), estimating systems, and advanced Excel; knowledge of contract understanding of scope, price, milestones, and contractual relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, finance, construction management, or project management
- 5+ years’ experience in Cost Controller or Quantity Surveying
- Construction experience; CANDY & SAP highly desirable
- Proven experience in managing project performance and reporting using Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Proven experience in SAP (or other ERP System), estimating systems (or similar), Excel (advanced preferable)
- Knowledge of a Contract to understand scope, price, milestones, contractual relationships between parties
