Job Summary
Prepare construction cost estimates for education, healthcare, residential, corporate occupier and commercial projects; manage estimating and cost planning activities, including ownership of and presentation of final cost plans; apply value management from project outset and where appropriate; ensure cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively; participate in value engineering, LEED analysis and life cycle costing; take a lead role interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages; lead a cost management team to deliver on accountabilities; conduct research on Canada’s construction market conditions; manage commissions and assist with basic project and financial management tasks such as tracking and invoicing; 5-10 years’ experience delivering pre-construction and post-contract cost services; degree in Quantity Surveying; professional memberships (CIQS/RICS/AACE); CostX knowledge is an asset; salary range $90,000-$140,000 annually; hybrid/work-life balance supportive environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years post-graduate experience in cost planning and estimating
- A recognized University Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Membership in CIQS, RICS, and/or AACE
- Knowledge of CostX is an asset
