Job Summary
Senior Cost Accountant responsible for fixed asset tracking, CIP, and cost accounting systems at Electra's demonstration/manufacturing operations; own inventory valuation, variance analysis, month-end close, and internal controls; partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and FP&A to enhance cost visibility, improve accuracy, and deliver actionable insights; drive process improvements including ERP/NetSuite enhancements, and ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness in a high-growth manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in construction-in-progress, inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing accounting environments
- Active CPA license and highly relevant experience may be considered with 5+ years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of inventory costing and valuation methodologies within process and discrete manufacturing environments (Weighted Average Cost, Standard Cost, FIFO)
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced accounting knowledge to resolve complex issues
- Strong variance analysis and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with large datasets
- Hands-on ERP experience, preferably NetSuite
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience mentoring junior team members and leading initiatives
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
