Job Summary
Senior Cost Accountant in a machine shop/manufacturing setting responsible for managing general ledger activity, journal entries, and cost accounting functions. Analyzes job costs, production spend, and overhead allocation; partners with production/operations to understand cost drivers; supports inventory processes including cycle counts and physical inventory; participates in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; tracks KPIs tied to production; supports audits and financial reporting; identifies and implements process improvements within accounting and operations. Requires experience with cost accounting, inventory, job costing, GAAP, ERP systems (preferably SAGE/Synchro), strong Excel skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing strongly preferred)
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory, and job costing
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAGE, Synchro, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership
