Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct all cost accounting activities to support monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and inventory reconciliation across all site locations. Calculate reserves for excess and obsolete inventory, determine inventory turns and capitalized variances, and prepare COGS and inventory analysis metrics. Define policies and procedures for cost accounting and inventory activities, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 and supporting audit schedules. Support manufacturing variances, purchase price variances, and resource spend analysis while maintaining a standard cost system and BOMs. Develop metrics for major cost drivers and communicate results to business leaders. Manage the inventory team from a compliance perspective, overseeing cycle counts and ERP processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in cost accounting and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis related to manufacturing activities
- Demonstrated leadership and history of driving change with a sense of urgency
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professional
- Strong working knowledge of ERP & MRP systems
- Strong Analytical and MS office skills, especially Excel
- Excellent management skills
- Attention to detail
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- High degree of integrity including ability to successfully handle sensitive or confidential information
- Displays a high level of accuracy
- Ability to learn quickly and complete ownership of area of responsibility
- Comfortable and willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to be a team player
- Understand & apply US GAAP requirements
- Experience in interacting with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, production control, materials, outside vendors and other functional areas of a manufacturing business
