Job Summary
Provide legal support to senior management and all Versant Power departments, including drafting policies for compliance with applicable laws and coordinating corporate programs. Perform legal monitoring and research to develop analysis of the Company's position regarding litigation, strategy, and judicial proceedings. Negotiate, draft, and review legal agreements and contracts, while acting proactively to educate the Company on broader legal issues and process improvements. Attend continuing legal education seminars and participate in community non-profit boards to raise the Company's profile. This role requires a J.D. and Maine State Bar admission, eight years of corporate and commercial law experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. (Juris Doctor) or LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws)
- admission to the Maine State Bar Association
- at least eight years of relevant experience
