Senior Corporate Counsel

Job Summary
Senior Corporate Counsel to Nuton and Copper Technical R&D initiatives. Provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice across commercial transactions, technology deployment, intellectual property, regulatory, environmental, health and safety, land use, and compliance matters. Support negotiations and execution of commercial transactions, including private placements and joint ventures; manage NDAs, collaboration agreements, term sheets, and other contracts; advise on regulatory matters and stakeholder engagement; align legal strategy with business objectives; lead cross-functional collaboration and provide internal legal training. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, with travel across the United States and potential international travel to support internal engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from an ABA-accredited institution
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience in law firm and/or corporate legal department
- 2+ years in-house legal experience (preferred)
- Licensed, or able to become licensed, to practice law in Utah within one year of employment
- Strong experience in mergers & acquisitions, commercial transactions, and/or investment-related matters
- Experience in environmental and land use law, natural resources, mining, industrial, technology, or R&D sectors (highly desirable)
- Strong drafting, negotiation, advisory, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel as required
