Job Summary

Provide practical legal advice across clinical risk, claims management, regulatory, privacy, and compliance matters. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation, agreements, and policies while partnering with hospital leaders and external providers to manage medical malpractice claims. Advise on risk management and governance frameworks across Ramsay Australia, maintaining confidentiality and high-quality outcomes while managing competing priorities. This 12-month fixed-term opportunity supports safe, high-quality patient care within Australia's largest private healthcare operator, which operates 76 hospitals and 12 surgical centres serving over 1.1 million patients annually.

Required Qualifications

  • Admission as a solicitor to an Australian Supreme Court
  • 7+ years post-admission experience
  • Experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, clinical risk, or related legal matters
  • Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and advisory capability
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working independently while contributing to a high-performing Legal team
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office capability
  • A willingness to mentor and support colleagues
  • 12-month fixed-term opportunity
